The desert has always been a huge source of inspiration for me and for my photography. I’ve been there time and time again either with friends, or alone. This past trip to California I spent a day there with Laurel and Hillary. Something about this trip was particularly special. I haven’t [...]

I’ve finally finished my photos and slideshow from my trip to Haiti, thanks to “Soundslides,” which is a powerful program for documentary photographers who want to share their work with the world. Click on the link below which will take you to the slideshow and then you can watch it full screen, toggle the [...]

…was what I got from a day on the town in Fort Wayne that started with Pizza, then Powers Hamburgers (after which you cannot avoid reeking of cooked onions), and THEN the world famous Coney Island for chili smothered hotdogs. Good idea… or bad idea?
The answer: Both.

In the midst of an unexpectedly crazy-hectic fall, I never had the chance to finish doing post-production and sorting my images from my trip to China. I went to Northern China in October with my good friends over at LiNK to document their work over there.
It was a truly stretching experience both as a [...]

While I was in Brazil for Ira & Andrea’s wedding I had a couple extra days on my own at the end. I spent a good chunk of that time staying out of the rain and editing footage from the wedding, but I also took about 24 hours to put together a 140-second short [...]

Happy Christmas to everyone! So I’ve accomplished a couple of things these last few days: fixed the broken links on my blog… successfully began editing past shoots (long way to go)… began preparing my big “2009″ year-end post… AND… finished one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve done yet to date.
A month ago [...]

Spent a whirlwind 2 days in Raleigh this past weekend and shot an amazing event with Ira. Thought I’d put up a few of the in-between shots that didn’t quite make the slideshow at the reception but that struck me as interesting.

There’s nothing particularly amazing about these images, but I snapped them in-between shooting video in Rio. I mostly shot video, so it was sort of unusual to find things that were picture-worthy and not get a shot in. Every once in a while, however, I would think to grab a still.

I swear this was my view when I opened my eyes at 5:30 in the morning. I slept in a favela (the slums) above the city. The last 4 days have been chalk full of stories. For now, here are the parts words can’t express:

Weird 24 hours. So weird.
Back and forth a bunch between working hard and hardly working. Sin Fang Bous for soundtrack.

I’m writing from Rio de Janeiro. Hundreds of images and hours of footage that I CAN’T share yet and it’s killing me! I’m sure Samuel can feel my pain…
I just realized that this is my 503rd post. Didn’t even realize that I’d crossed the 500 mark but here I am… hmm… [...]

I’ve been working on a side project for the last 6 months that is now finally (beginning) to come to fruition. After 1 photo shoot and a very brief video shoot, I’m moving forward with an international “blogumentary” project entitled “Shake The Dust.” The documentary, which will ideally be shared in the form of videos, [...]

Last week I had the pleasure of hanging out with a crew in the city that started at the Bus Stop Cafe (my fav). Janelle hasn’t seen a lot of the city yet, though she’s been here since September, and Scott was in town on his way to South America. We hit up the Chelsea [...]

iPhone photos from the last few weeks… mostly from China. All of the below photos were edited IN my iPhone with Chase Jarvis’s Best Camera application.

Having the iPhone handy at all times has meant that I stop a lot more and capture moments in the city that I would otherwise notice but pass by. A few of those…
