Unfortunately this is not Haiti Day 4. Tomorrow.
Today was a surreal day of travel. It didn’t help that I’m reading “Kafka On The Shore” right now– which messes with your head, but the whole day I felt tired and zombie-like and fuzzy. I left for the airport on the M60 Bus at [...]

The desert has always been a huge source of inspiration for me and for my photography. I’ve been there time and time again either with friends, or alone. This past trip to California I spent a day there with Laurel and Hillary. Something about this trip was particularly special. I haven’t [...]

As the first month of 2010 comes to a close, here’s a sampling of iPhone photos I took throughout the month. I realized as I went through them that they paint a pretty accurate picture of my January: cold New York, slightly slower-paced (thank goodness), interrupted by my trip to Haiti. There’s also [...]

The older I get, the more I begin to appreciate not just where I’m going– but where I came from. While I was home over break I looked at some slides of pictures my dad took when he was traveling in Europe years ago. It’s weird to see pictures of your parents when [...]

I had the privilege of going to the town I was born in, Fort Wayne, IN, for a few days over the holiday. I was able to see so many friends that I rarely am able to hang out with any more.
While I was home the weather was nothing but snowy and cold. [...]

Happy Christmas to everyone! So I’ve accomplished a couple of things these last few days: fixed the broken links on my blog… successfully began editing past shoots (long way to go)… began preparing my big “2009″ year-end post… AND… finished one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve done yet to date.
A month ago [...]

I’ve been pretty infrequent with posts this week due the craziness of all the work that needed to get done before the holidays. As a result, I’ll probably have a deluge of posts coming up while I’m home over break. Just finished up a big project that involved video, photography, print design (including [...]

This is essentially a test post. For some reason my image links are broken on the site and I just need to see if they’re up and working again.
In the mean time, here are some images from my cross-country trek this past June with Chad Cress. I’ve posted a few of these already but some [...]

There’s nothing particularly amazing about these images, but I snapped them in-between shooting video in Rio. I mostly shot video, so it was sort of unusual to find things that were picture-worthy and not get a shot in. Every once in a while, however, I would think to grab a still.

I swear this was my view when I opened my eyes at 5:30 in the morning. I slept in a favela (the slums) above the city. The last 4 days have been chalk full of stories. For now, here are the parts words can’t express:

Weird 24 hours. So weird.
Back and forth a bunch between working hard and hardly working. Sin Fang Bous for soundtrack.

I’m writing from Rio de Janeiro. Hundreds of images and hours of footage that I CAN’T share yet and it’s killing me! I’m sure Samuel can feel my pain…
I just realized that this is my 503rd post. Didn’t even realize that I’d crossed the 500 mark but here I am… hmm… [...]

After a crazy week of juggling post-production for jobs that I need to wrap, meeting with clients, and running errands, ON TOP of working every extra second of my day and night on “Shake the Dust,” I’m ready for some R&R… Although I’m not sure it’s coming any time soon.
Seriously not complaining. Busyness [...]

Work is piling up. I won’t complain because life is good, and we all go through busy times, but I’m at a point where I just have to take one day at a time or I become quickly overwhelmed by all that is in front of me.
One of the hardest things is balancing the [...]

I’ve been working on a side project for the last 6 months that is now finally (beginning) to come to fruition. After 1 photo shoot and a very brief video shoot, I’m moving forward with an international “blogumentary” project entitled “Shake The Dust.” The documentary, which will ideally be shared in the form of videos, [...]

Last week I had the pleasure of hanging out with a crew in the city that started at the Bus Stop Cafe (my fav). Janelle hasn’t seen a lot of the city yet, though she’s been here since September, and Scott was in town on his way to South America. We hit up the Chelsea [...]

…but I actually enjoy a day of flying. I might be the only person in the entire world who feels this way, but I love airports… and I love planes.
