Apolis Activism

I recently teamed up with Apolis Activism– a collaboration with a huge list of other people. Ready for this? Kim Reierson took photos while James Wilson, of the blog Secret Forts, styled and helped art direct a short video by Apolis (specifically Shea Parton) about their spring line and Michael Daube from CITTA as well as a Charity Water story that will run later. Just to add another name to the list here, while finally getting to see the Charity Water headquarters, I was texting friend and photographer Esther Havens, who was in Haiti the same time I was, and whom I was finally able to meet (way overdue) the other day on her stopover in NY en route to Africa.

I feel out of breath.

We shot in David Byrne’s studio for part of the day, and I like what this letter (to him) said:

Check out the video below which I shot and David Christenson edited. I also snapped a few photos throughout the day…

  1. the apolis brothers are good people, i dig their bat cave offices in fashion district right by the loft(attach 6 page resident history here) nice little coffee shop but have seen them give the whole place for some horrible photo galleries, like bad bad and then add nude strippers to make it good?!? lol

  2. what are u using for the bulk of all ur post editing on stills? Ps or lightroom, im still struggling/not finding a Lr flow. can edit blind in Ps4 but dig some cheasy Lr slider effects. u use it?

  3. i primarily use Lightroom and just open up photoshop for major surgery. lightroom is pretty powerful and I find I can do most of what I want in Lightroom. It’s just a matter of getting used to the program…
