This is a bit of a shameless re-post. I was going through some old shoots and started retouching these images and kind of fell in love with them. Part of that is because of the story– spring, rain, friends, etc– that is attached to them.

Spring is going to be here soon. And though 2010 is already two and a half months in, I feel like I’m in “prep-phase” for the year– like it doesn’t really start until May hits. There’s so much anticipation leading up to the beginning of summer. Part of that is because it’s currently booking season, and so I don’t do quite as much shooting right now. Instead, though I am doing a few shoots, I’m mostly spending my days finishing up old projects, meeting with clients, and filling out my Calendar for the upcoming year.

And my upcoming year is filling up in advance in a way previous years never have. Something that’s really nice about this is that, unlike in the past, I’m able to really plan my time out well. A big priority for me this year is to have peace in my life– something that’s difficult to have when I’m “over-working” and “over-playing.” Balance is definitely necessary, but it’s something that is hard to attain in my line of work. Especially when I’m traveling all the time, and am in charge of my own schedule– recreational and vocational.

All that being said, I’m trying to grow into this way of life that is sort-of always evolving. And that presents it’s challenges. But I’m up for it. And in the mean time I’m so excited for all of the shoots and trips that I have coming up this year. I have projects that are going to be taking me all over the globe– from the Middle East, to Northern and Central Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Carribbean. Plus some great partnerships with organizations and designers that are doing some amazing things in/for the world.

Spring=hope.

PS:  On a potentially melodramatic side-note, “Don’t Look Back In Anger.”  So good.
