Fellow blogger, photographer, and, especially, long-time friend, Laurel, was in town this last week. With a lot of work that I was trying to get done, I made sure I worked through the mornings, and then each afternoon headed out for some amazing adventures in the city. We hit up so many great New York places including the Met, the Natural History Museum, the Highline Park, every major neighborhood, Cafe Lalo in the UWS, The Boat Basin Cafe on the Hudson, Corner Bistro in the West Village, hookah on MacDougal, not to mention Staten Island and some great spots in Brooklyn (wine that tastes like CHOCOLATE??).
It was great to get to really take advantage of this city with all it has to offer. And the weather was perfect: temperate with just a tinge of autumn in the air. The nights and mornings have been crisp, and the days relatively sun-soaked.
I’ve been taking a break from my camera, but clearly that doesn’t mean taking a break from photography. Laurel was the primary photographer on our excursions (much to here chagrin… we photographers never get pictures taken of US)… but I did take a good load of iPhone photos.
Check out Laurel’s photos on her blog.
