Looks just like the sun.
Looks just like the sun.

California glows.  I always forget it.  But coming back here– it’s so true.  Glow away California.

Breakfast with Emily.
Breakfast with Emily.

The other day I had breakfast with Jon and Josh and our friend Emily.  I didn’t know she was going to be in town and I haven’t seen her in (i think) over a year so it was a great surprise to see her.

Here’s a few shots from the other day getting ready to go surfing. That first one is Ira’s.

Road trip pics post #1.
Road trip pics post #1.

This past weekend I went on a road trip up the coast to Santa Cruz.  I have something like 10 or 15 different posts from the trip so I’m going to probably spread them out a bit.  In the mean time here are a few from the first day– the drive up and arrival in [...]

Another preview.

Well, I have boatloads of stuff I want to share with you all. I’m so sorry that I’ve been fairly lax this last week in the postings. I promise to flood you with photos soon. Here’s one last preview before the real deals…

Preview of things to come.

I’ve been sorting through hundreds of pictures from this weekend. So much fun stuff to be shared. In the mean time, (because the internet is slower than molasses in January), here’s a teensy tinsy preview.

Faces break the coast.
Faces break the coast.

I have been gone for 5 days now. I’m sorry for that. But it was a nice little break from the world. I was up in the Santa Cruz mountains with no cell phone, e-mail or internet for a couple days. Hence the limited (or non-existent) posting. Now I’m back in the LBC for the [...]

Happy Birthday to me.
Happy Birthday to me.

Went surfing this morning and now I’m hitting the road with Josh and Jon.  A few cell phone pictures from my waterproof G’z one phone.  California, ladies and gentlemen.  More pictures to come.

I’ve been out of touch with anyone and everyone trying to get a hold of me (Dad, Nick Weaver).  Sorry sorry sorry!  I’m a little bit one track minded and its been a crazy 24 hours (see below).  I’ll be back on my game tomorrow.

Walking on walls: test shoot
Walking on walls: test shoot

My friend, professional stunt performer Victor Paguia, and I are working on a photo project. We completed phase 1 yesterday and I thought I’d share the images from it. We were basically just scouting and testing things out for a more complicated shoot in the future but I was pretty excited for how the images [...]

Loved this film.  “Rachel Getting Married.”  See it.

Yesterday.
Yesterday.

Yesterday was a busy day filled with taking pictures (a hint of whats to come perhaps?).  When I wasn’t doing 2 shoots, I was shooting the in-between: That is a tree in Chelsea that has eaten a fence. Despite being a brisk day, spring was clearly in the air.  Imagine this:  a truck pulls up– [...]

Please ignore that giant flaming pillar of smoke.
Please ignore that giant flaming pillar of smoke.

Maybe this is common in New York, but the exploding smoking manhole in the middle of th e street came off as a terrorist attack to this naive photographer. Don’t worry, nobody was harmed (that I know of). The coolest thing was the last photo. The manhole was spraying smoke, and then it spit out [...]

The sun (and it's warmth).

The sun made another elusive appearance yesterday.  Stopped working just long enough to experience it for a few minutes:

Weekend trip to Connect-i-cut.

This weekend Matt and I headed off on a train to visit our friend Christina in Connecticut.  It was a great weekend on the lake… we had a few complications getting home today (and almost ended up in Boston… woops) but other then that the weekend went off without a hitch.  Christina is a graduate [...]
