For the last week I’ve been staying with the Myers family, near Bude in Cornwall. It’s been so much fun being a part of the family (Josh and I were on the ‘kids list’ at a kids party yesterday. Such fun.)
Both Friday nights we’ve been here have been quite festive– this last one especially. Pat and Ann who live on a farm down the road were among the guests. We sat and ate and laughed until our ribs were sore. I’m pretty sure we sang 30 verses of “What do you do with a drunken sailor?” and the “United States National Anthem” twice. Josh also played a few songs… It was a night to remember.
I don’t know if I’ll have a chance to post pictures of it or not, but we also have spent some time this week at The Bush– one of (if not THE) oldest pubs in all of England, dating back to the 10th century.

one of the funniest memories i have of fort wilderness (christian camp) was at a campfire sing-a-long where we could give requests… my college roommate’s youngest daughter (then 5 i think) requested “what do you do with a drunken sailor” … we sang all the verses and laughed til we cried!
Jim and I ate a pub that looked quite a bit like that; it was in the middle of nowhere up in the Yorkshire dales on one cold, dusky evening in November ’87; best ale and food we had whilst in merry olde england
