I attended and photographed an event in Los Angeles last night. It was an art opening for Mattia Biagi, an Italian artist who works with tar and various objects. His process is pretty impressive and exhaustive (which you can read more about at his site). It was an incredibly interesting exhibition in a great gallery space (which I feel like Los Angeles does not have in abundance). Worth noting is the incredible job Amanda Shulman did curating the show. Mattia’s work stands alone, but was amplified greatly by the particularity of the installation.
