It’s been a bit of time since my last post because of the holidays AND because I’ve spent something like 40 hours in the last few days getting my new site up. It still has a few kinks to work out but I’m pretty excited about it. Check it out here: www.adamsjoberg.com

Here’s batch number two of the film stuff I recently shot. This was shot with iso 400 Velvia slide film.

Here’s the first batch of two posts of some recent shots I took with my new (old) Konica. These are black-and-whites shot with 3200 speed film.

I had 42 hours on the train from Los Angeles to Chicago but I made it a point to spend most of that time getting some much needed work done and not take too many pictures. But I did snap a few pictures along the way:

I usually don’t like shooting abstractions because it can tend to be a little bit of a cop-out for not really utilizing any skill (not always, but often). But some photos of sunsets on my friend Eric‘s blog the other day inspired me to shoot a couple abstractions out the window of my train the [...]

will be joining me in London for New Years. Eiffel Tower. Paris, France. January 2008. (With Canon 20D) Reno Room Bathroom. Long Beach, CA. November 2008. (With Casio G’zone phone).

Carlos is a photographer living on 4th street and was also the figure studies model for my figure studies classes in college. I asked him if I could visit his studio and take some pictures of him and he obliged. I had a good time chatting with him though I must admit he’s a bit… [...]

I’m sitting on my parents couch in Edwardsburg, MI after a 42 hour train ride, 4 hour IKEA run, and 3 hour drive (through) snow. I’m too tired to do anything else, but I wanted to get this posted. I worked on this project my last week in Long Beach. It’s a sampling (but not [...]

A couple nights before I left for the midwest I had the pleasure of hanging out with some friends in Costa Mesa. There was really good Pasta, and side-splitting laughter.

I wanted to try and pace myself a little more because I haven’t updated my blog (before today) since this past weekend and I’ve been flashing those bulbs and letting that shutter fly all week so I have a lot of stuff to put up. These photos are most certainly a work in progress. They [...]

Yesterday I went over to the wonderful LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) with Jody and Josh to see one of the current exhibitions, “Vanity Fair Portraits: Photographs 1913–2008″. It was a fantastic exhibit that left us all a little overwhelmed once we’d invested the time to see and read about nearly every photograph. [...]

My goal before I moved to New York was to do a project where I went all over Long Beach and captured my favorite local people, shops, restaurants, etc. Well, I’ve been immersed in so many other projects this last week that it just didn’t happen. But maybe over time I will be able to [...]

My friend Ben Bishop passed this along to me. I love it. For more info on Myoung Ho Lee check out The Morning News

If my trip to San Onofre on Saturday seems epic from these pictures, its because it WAS, Jon. I’m moving to New York. In February… the coldest month of the year. This being my last week in sunny California, I was glad to soak up all the sun I could. And it was a particularly [...]

Yesterday I had the pleasure of hanging out with my good friends, Nate and Holly. We went on a metro adventure (something I highly recommend) around LA. It took us through Chinatown, Olvera street, Union Station, Grand Central Market, and old town Pasadena (near their apartment). Enjoy some photos I took of them on our [...]

Saturday night Winn and I headed over to an excellent community event in Seal Beach. There was a lot of stuff happening/people involved, so I’m resorting to a list here (in no particular order): 1. Bro Futurists 2. The Salon 3. Avi Buffalo 4. Dan Callis‘s studio opening 5. The Hobo Soul (and soup!) 6. [...]

I’m in the process of sifting through a thousand photos from this weekend. So as I’m getting ready for the photo-blog-post of the century, here’s something to nibble on: my friend Tyler Gipe’s photos. He’s a finalist for 944 magazine’s unscene photographer contest. If you like his photos (and you should) vote for him here.

I decided to post the pictures from the actual opening of Mattia Biagi’s work separate from the images of the installation itself. People: The curator of the exhibit, Amanda Shulman, with her (I believe) brother: The full coverage of the event:

I attended and photographed an event in Los Angeles last night. It was an art opening for Mattia Biagi, an Italian artist who works with tar and various objects. His process is pretty impressive and exhaustive (which you can read more about at his site). It was an incredibly interesting exhibition in a great gallery [...]

I always feel really alive when I walk around a city. Especially during the time when it’s dark but the city hasn’t settled down yet. The buzz of people scurrying about getting ready to settle in against the glow of light that is everywhere in metropolitan areas is so photogenic. View Larger Map

Tonight Josh, Jon and I went on a walk to watch the sunset and decided to head down to the Pike where, two nights previous, Josh and I had wandered into a giant yellow tent and caught the tale end of a circus. It was surreal at the time and we decided it would be [...]
