Wednesday evening I packed up my gear (which was pretty much already packed), picked up my surfboard, and hit the road for one of the best road trips in the world: the entire western coast of the U.S. I started in Huntington Beach (I guess it would have been better if I’d started in Tijuana) and I’ll be ending in Vancouver eventually. Yesterday I surfed in Morro Bay and then camped out under the stars in the mountains above Big Sur. I’ve driven that ragged road several times before but it never ceases to amaze me how beautiful it is there.
Bob Dylan was the music of choice this morning as the wonderful, sweet smell of the redwoods filled my nose and chilled the air.
