The Lobster Shack was an excellent culinary experience in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. There’s nothing particularly incredible about the atmosphere– pretty simple and down-home, but then again so is Maine. The lobster is alive when you order it (which may weird some of you out but it means it’s as fresh as can be). I had to go with the Lobster meal which was a screaming deal (no pun intended) at $20 bucks (for a whole lobster+biscuit+cole slaw+pile-o-fries). Most of the seating is outdoors, though there is indoor available– just plan on waiting in line for a seat. Didn’t get a chance to try them, but the Lobster Shack is most famous for its lobster rolls which I have to say looked incredible. If you don’t need the full cultural experience of cracking your lobster open yourself, go with the rolls.
