Movie at the Hollywood Cemetery

One of the cooler L.A. experiences I’ve had was this past Sunday night. Scott, Joel, Janelle, Jody and I headed out to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for a movie. Cinespia puts on screenings on Saturday and Sunday nights during the summer. Its $10 bucks and fully worth it. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own food/drinks/lawn chairs. Hundreds– maybe thousands? of people fill the law at the cemetery and watch old classics on the huge projection. Its odd, but great– a perfect summer activity. People of all kinds emerge from the nooks and crannies of Silver Lake, Hollywood, Los Feliz, Santa Monica and beyond decked out in summer-comfort clothes, with picnic baskets, wine bottles, and blow-up chairs. If you’re in L.A. this summer, don’t miss this tree!

  3. Hey! This is the first time I’ve been to your site…I love it! Yes, I’m e-mailing…it’s a miracle! Valley Girl! Wow! I first saw that in like 1982 or 83 I think. My favorite scenes are actually in the club when they first kiss and when he crawls through the bathroom window( the songs that are playing are 2 of my favorites). I have an old tape of it, but nothing like how you saw it. I am so excited for you and this new “adventure” that you’ve embarked on. While you’re young and unencumbered by the needs of others for you to stay stationary, experience the joys and wonder of life how it should have been in the first place. Be happy. I am so proud of you! Love ya, Heather
