Well, after a long flight from Phoenix, I’m sitting here at the Atlanta airport for an even longer layover. For those of you that haven’t been to Atlanta’s Hartsfield Int’l Airport, it’s one of the nations largest hubs and more specifically Delta’s hub (my airline of choice). As a result the airport is rather huge with wifi almost everywhere and gobs of restaurants of different kinds. If you have a long layover, find a directory because terminals are pretty spread out.
The wifi situation is okay. It’s $7.95 for 24 hours and its decently fast. I picked up a free signal for a little bit but then lost it.
As far as sleeping and resting, it is pretty consistently busy. Scott, you got some comments on sleeping over night? Or any other tips?

The sleeping situation is ok. They keep it at a decent temp in there, so it is generally comfortable without a blanket.
Most of the chairs/seating is all the same in each of the terminals. The best way I found to get comfortable was to look for the benches that have 3 seats on them and have no backs. These are almost always found pushed up against walls (hence the no back thing). If you can find 2 open ones next to each other push them together end to end (to make a really long bench). The two seat pads that are touching make single pad long enough to rest your back on when you lie down without having that annoying gap. Simple but effective, especially if you are trying to sleep for longer than an hour or so.
If you don’t mind the “gap” thing, most of the other benches (with backs) work fine.
There are TVs all over the airport playing CNN or some other news channel at a comfortable level so you can watch and listen but aren’t hindered when it comes time to catch some zees.
As Adam said, because the airport is so huge you usually never have a problem finding a sleeping area.
On the food note, there is one eatery out of all the terminals that is open 24 hours a day. It is in terminal C, and it is called the Atlanta Bread Company. Similar to Panera Bread for those who are familiar with that chain.
Happy sleeping!
