The road is my mistress…

Yesterday morning I was startled awake by the repeated buzzing of Ira’s apartment doorbell– which is less of a “bell” and more of a… well, obnoxious BUZZZZZZZ. Charlie was anxiously waiting for me at the door after having waited for 30 minutes at the 6 Ave and 33rd Street PATH metro stop. I’d slept in. Seems like my late night shooting the wedding with the Lippkes did me in– along with my phone alarm which didn’t go off.

After being dragged out of an abyss of sleep, I packed, panicked, and we hit the road. Train to New Jersey to pick up our car, and then on to Greenwich, Conn. We had crepes at a French restaurant in Greenwich with Charlie’s friend Priscilla. That was a great time– talking about politics, traveling, and Argentina (where Priscilla’s family is from).

After several more hours of driving, Charlie and I arrived in Burlington, outside of Boston, where we crashed at Scott’s hotel (he’s in town for business) and waited for him to arrive. Once Scott got it we had a pretty uneventful evening with the exception of the fact that I may have laughed the hardest I’ve ever laughed in my entire life. Exaggeration? I really don’t think so. If you want to know why, just ask to see the picture of me from Paris and you’ll understand.

Then we went to Chili’s. More tomorrow.
