Bryant Park – 19.5/30.

View Map

Speed factor: 2/5
Crowd/Hipster factor: 4/5 (It’s crowded during the middle of the day, but there’s still loads of places to pop a squat. Part of the fun is being in the park with all the New Yorkers.)
Power factor: 0/5. There are no outlets that I know of that you’re aloud to plug into.
Friendly factor: 4/5. Well, you’re surrounded by New Yorkers. Take that for what its worth. But everyone’s general spirits lift a few points when they sprawl out in the sun for their afternoon siesta. Lots of people have their laptops out. You might have some homeless people hit you up for change but they’re harmless.
Atmosphere/Neighborhood factor: 5/5. It’s the park! (And my favorite in New York).
Food/Bev factor: 4.5/5. There are loads of cafe’s and sandwich booths/cafe’s in and around the park.

Speed factor: 4.5/5
Crowd/Hipster factor: 2/5 (It’s in the village for goodness sakes.)
Power factor: 4/5. Quite a few outlets.
Friendly factor: 4/5. There were lots of people squatting an no complaints from staff.
Atmosphere/Neighborhood factor: 4.5/5. Great neighborhood. Explore around if you can– it’s Greenwich village. There’s lots to see. And if you can endure the crappy art on the walls, its really got a chill atmosphere (besides being a little crowded).
Food/Bev factor: 4.5/5. I had my usual green iced tea and it was one of the better ones I’ve had. My Amish Tomato/Grilled Cheese sandwich was quite good as well. Can’t yet speak for the coffee.
