Europe 2006

Most of my pictures were lost to the perils of a faulty hard drive and stolen ipod. But here are a few from the wonderul Emily Weiss, who I meet up with on this trip.

The trip breakdown was as follows:

-Arrive in Rome (flying first class!) Met up with Emily and Jess.

-Off to Cinque Terre on my own.

-Met back up with Em and Jess in Milan.

-Fun times with them in Interlaken Switzerland!

-Went with them to meet up with Seanne, Daniel, and Ira in Berlin. Great times. (Awesome breakfast).

-On to Sweden where I met up with Tyler.

-Then on my own in Paris and the South of France where I met Conor and Ella.

Then home to L.A. via Indiana.

Shout out to Ira Lippke, Jessica Nelson, Emily Weiss, and Tyler Gipe.

Thank you Emily for the wonderful images.

Some fotes:

The Colliseum

This is the colliseum, obviously.

jetlag.

Em and Jess pretending to be Roman monuments.

Jess and I, bathed in a Roman sunset.

More sunset. (Glory shot).

More sunset. I miss Rome.

More sunset. I miss Rome.

Falling asleep on the bus ride back to our camp. Jetlag.

Falling asleep on the way back to our hostel.

Trevi fountain.

Trevi fountain.

Photo shoot with Jess. I lost all mine so I’m glad Em captured some great shots.

Jess and I in a huge stone doorway.

St. Peters Basilica.

Outside the Basilica.

Map of Interlaken, Switzerland (“between lakes”).

Balmers Herbage: great people, cider beer, and Jess maybe got a little sick. Maybe. Clear blue skies and crisp clean mountain air though!

Downtown Interlaken.

Jess and Em having a cup ‘o joe.

That’s me with my pack, hiking the long trail of Harder Kulm. Jess and Em happened to pass me on the “slanty-cable-car” thing. Not the first bizarre coincidence of the trip.

Em got this shot of the Haus Nazareth in Berlin where we stayed with Seanne and Daniel. The house was under renovation at the time but I’m pretty sure it’s fully functional now. We had a great time in Berlin hanging out with Angela, Ira, Seanne, Daniel, and some of their friends there. Plus we had one of the best breakfasts on record when we got into Berlin. And a clean shower!!!

Walking tour of Berlin.

Playground for “big kids.”

Monument to learning in East Berlin. Book-burnings suck.

Ira and I. Properly equipped.

Holocaust memorial. One of the best memorials I’ve ever seen.

The Berlin Wall.

Also the wall.

Somewhere out there some French girls are enjoying my wonderful music along with some sweet photos of my trip. And maybe someday my hard drive will work again and I can retrieve the Europe pictures that i do have. Until then, this will have to do.

I love Europe!
